GRO.W.V.BABY operates as a community-based, practice-based research network and is an initiative of the CRADLE (Childhood Research to Advance Developmental-Health Learning and Equity) Research Lab, the research and evaluation arm of the Vital Village Networks organization at Boston Medical Center.
CRADLE Lab at Vital Village Networks serves as the backbone organization for the GRO.W.V.BABY Research Network. Vital Village Networks’ mission is to develop community-based strategies to promote child wellbeing and advance health and educational equity through research, data sharing, and collective action. Developing networks and cross-sector collaborations where community residents co-lead and co-design is a central strategy.

Group well child-care is a novel take on the traditional visit, creating a community of parents with similarly aged children with a consistent provider for the first two years of life. This model allows parent- driven discussion, increased provider contact, increased social and community support, and additional time to discuss and practice anticipatory guidance.
The Steering Committee consists of eight founding members who are dedicated to advancing group well-child care research and practice. The committee meets monthly to discuss research initiatives, collaboratively develop research protocols, establish shared agreements, and determine network priorities.

Cynthia Osborne joins the GROW.V.BABY (Group Wellness Visits for Babies and Family) explores how state-level prenatal-to-three policies translate evidence into measurable benefits for families. The conversation covers key components of the Prenatal-to-Three Policy Impact Center’s Roadmap, including high-impact policy levers, policy impact calculators and benefit–cost analyses for policymakers, and resources available through the Clearinghouse. The talk also highlights emerging policy areas—paid leave, child care, enhanced Medicaid reimbursement, and extended postpartum care—with attention to how evaluated programs and strategies can scale across states.
